about

Brooklyn's late, great Stagger Back Brass Band existed for 6 years, from 2006 - 2012. Led by accordionist and composer Patrick Farrell and featuring some of Brooklyn's most adventurous players of brass and percussion instruments, Stagger Back warmed the hearts and tested the ears and aesthetics of audiences all over New York City, tripping over themselves on stage, intentionally sabotaging their own performances, and accompanying invited circus artists and vocalists for legendary nights of music and chaos.
During one cold day in Dec. 2007, and one more (somewhat warmer) day in Apr. 2008, the band convened in Brooklyn's cavernous Civil War-era munitions bunker studio Seizure's Palace/B.C. Studio to set some music down onto 2" tape, and - after further manipulations and mischief in New Orleans - the resulting document was released in Jan. 2009.
